Introduction
The ROTOR software is very easy to use. It has been designed to be intuitive requiring no special training. The demonstration in the video below shows how easy it is to use. It concentrates on basic use without any changes to settings etc.
While this is aimed at ROTOR HDA (pre August 2021) the basic functions are the same for ROTOR+.

Procedure
- After the ROTOR is turned on, this screen will be displayed. Select the green tick to continue.
- A reminder to make sure nothing has been left on the ROTOR.
- The ROTOR will initialise and check it’s motor positions
- For normal use select the top option
- Select the source plate and density. Multi-well for liquid, PlusPlate for Agar plates of known density. Lawn - Agar plate with a layer of non arrayed cells. Bath -for liquid non well plates
- The selection you make for the Source plate defines what options are available for the Target plate
- Using the previous selections, pad density can be selected here
- Based on all the previous selections, program options will be displayed. Select the Grey button for information about each program.
- This screen allows access to various options and settings. You can continue with last used settings by pressing the green button.
- The ROTOR will provide instructions on the screen to show where to place the plates.
- Follow instructions to remove the hopper and load the correct pad type, when loading the pads take note of the orientation.
- When the hopper is replaced, the pads will be automatically loaded and the pads counted
- If the pads are correct the program will automatically begin
- The 3 buttons are PLAY, PAUSE and ABORT
- If the program uses multiple plates, it will instruct you when to load them. If you want to finish, select the cross icon
- If exit is selected, the program will finish
- Remove plates
- This screen shows a summary of the completed program, press the green tick icon to finish the program
