Introduction :
The video below demonstrates a software walk-through of how to create a basic custom routine using the Manual mode on the ROTOR (supplied before July 2021).
Note: To identify the difference between ROTOR (pre- July 2021) and ROTOR+ please see this article : What model of ROTOR do I have - ROTOR / ROTOR+?
Note: The creation of the custom routines on ROTOR+ (supplied after July 2021) is almost identical although the software looks different. A new video will be created soon.
Once the routine is created your normal Offsets, Mixing, Recycle and Pair modes are available as with any other routine / program.
The benefit of this method is that the user can try anything that is available but the ROTOR software will prevent any operation that can damage the ROTOR or cause a crash.
Note : It is not possible for users to edit the routine once it is created.
Singer Instruments are happy to assist with creating a special routine. We will require as much detail as possible. Diagrams to help with explanations are always welcome.
You will need to have a current Singer Instruments Support Agreement in place
Options on completion :
The last screen displayed on completion of the Manual Operation is as shown in the thumbnail below.
To explain these options :
- Return to the main menu: This cancels the routine without saving and takes the user back to the main menu
- Select more plates : This takes the user back to the start, cancelling the current routine
- Save routines as a new program with no modifications (not recommended) : This will save everything the user has done in the previous pages to create the final routine. This would include any basic mistakes that may have made along the way like forgetting to remove the lids of the plates.
- Automatically evaluate and save as a new program (recommended) - This one is the best one to use as it will take out those basic mistakes before saving the final routine.
