How to perform Random Colony Screening Protocol on the ROTOR(+)

Answer : To pick randomly plated colonies into 96 well plates and screen for the phenotype in liquid culture it would be beneficial to include a preliminary screening step on the agar plates. The strains that pass the preliminary screening step would then be picked into a 96-well plate for follow-up screens. Doing a preliminary screen on agar plates could potentially increase your throughput and the quality of your data.
