Singer PlusPlates and RePads are supplied sterile for single use only to prevent contamination. Reuse compromises sterility, may cause deformation from autoclaving, and repeated washing can affect accuracy. If issues arise with ROTOR(+) linked to reused consumables, replacement is advised. Economy Mode allows limited multiple uses of RePads. Damage from reuse may void support contracts. Contact technicalsupport@singerinstruments.com for more information.
Answer:
Singer PlusPlates and RePads are not recommended for re-use. We supply them in sterile packaging intended for one use only to reduce any possibilities of contamination.
Reasons:
- Sterility is compromised by reuse.
- Autoclaving can cause these consumables to deform.
- Washing and bleaching is a method that can be used but this can affect sterility. If this is done repeatedly it is also likely that the accuracy of these consumables will be affected.
- If there are problems using the ROTOR(+) which could be related to these consumables being re-used these consumables should be disposed of and replaced with new ones.
If using PlusPlates and RePads on the ROTOR(+) there is the option to use the Economy Mode which allows you to use the same RePad for multiple pinning operations before dumping. Please see the article and video : ROTOR Software - Advanced which includes a demonstration of the Economy Mode.
Please Note: Any damage caused to the ROTOR through the use of re-used consumables may not be covered by any support contracts.
