Answer : The ROTOR(+) is capable of pinning at 96, 384, 1536, 6144 densities on solid media and 96 and 384 in liquid media using our specially developed RePads..
Liquid: 384 has become the preferred density although as many cultures are still supplied in 96 format this is not always possible.
Solid: 1536 has been a standard for the yeast high-throughput screen community - you will never go wrong if you screen at this density.
Solid: 384 is more regularly used with Bacteria.
6144 density pads accelerate the high-throughput screening research even further although the agar must be as flat as possible and the colonies can merge if grown to saturation. Customers using Chlamydomonas have used 6144 for their projects. See : How successful is the 6144 density on the ROTOR(+)?
All RePad densities can be purchased from our online shop here : Shop for RePads. Our purposely designed PlusPlates for solid media can also be purchased here : Shop for PlusPlates
Note: We do not supply multi-well plates for use in the ROTOR please see the article : Where can I purchase 96 multi well plates for the ROTOR? for suggested suppliers
