Please note: The Stinger has been discontinued. We will continue to provide support to the best of our ability.
Answer:
The Stinger is an automated modular extension to the ROTOR(+) HDA robot for easy, ultra-fast rearrangement of high-density library arrays of yeast, other fungi, bacteria, and algae from colonies grown on solid agar or in liquid culture. It is designed for the picking and spotting of user-specified colonies from high-density arrays onto solid agar in 96, 384, 1536, and 6144 density format.
Important: We stopped including the wiring for the Stinger during production of ROTOR+. Earlier versions of ROTOR+ were able to use the Stinger but new versions of the software do not include the Stinger so if any software updates are performed the ability to use the Stinger may stop.
Note: To identify the difference between ROTOR (pre- July 2021) and ROTOR+ please see this article : What model of ROTOR do I have - ROTOR / ROTOR+?
