Answer: As part of the support package our customers are offered 'Remote Support'.
As well as phone, email, Zoom etc.. we offer 'Remote Access' for our products which are fitted with computers.
We have some options for remote access.
Secomea is an industry-standard system with no restrictions on Operating System. PIXL's are fitted with a black box for a secure connection.
Note: At the end of 2023 Singer Instruments stopped using Secomea due to an increase in charges. We will continue to use TeamViewer to remotely access computer controlled instruments provided by Singer Instruments. How do I use TeamViewer for Remote Access for Singer Products
TeamViewer is a well-known system used for remote access and is our preferred option next to Secomea.
Customers now have 3 alternatives:
- For customers with Windows 10 operating systems who have permission for their equipment to be put on the network, we use TeamViewer. This will require customers to run an install program before the technician is able to connect. For detailed instructions please see this article.
- For the PIXLs, the touchscreen is installed with Windows 10. PIXL's have an embedded Secomea system installed. These machines can be accessed without the customer present after an initial setup procedure. Please contact Technical Support for more details.
- For machines still running operating systems prior to Windows 10 either on touchscreen or laptops, we may be able to use TeamViewer to for remote access. Please check with your local IT Admin department as they will have to allow your computer onto their network.
