New Website - 2021
Our Technical Website was updated in 2021. We hope that the new website will provide a better experience for our customers.
While a lot of articles are visible without signing in we would always recommend signing in. This process is quick and easy to do. Head over to the Singer Instruments Technical Website. If you have previously signed in select "Sign In" from the link in the top right of the window as shown in the screenshot below, or select the button on the page "Sign in to access all articles".
If you have not signed in previously follow this link: New User sign in. You will be sent an email with login details.
While signed in you will have access to a lot more articles including basic maintenance tips.
Please Note: We do lock some articles away. These are mainly specific articles that relate to repairs. We prefer to monitor the access to these articles on a case-by-case basis. These are only available after contacting our Technical Support Team directly.
Submit a request
It is very easy to request assistance from one of our Technical Support Team. You can email technicalsupport@singerinstruments.com or you can 'Submit a Request' In the top right corner as shown in the screenshot above. This presents a drop-down box. Select the form which best suits your request and complete all the details as far as you can. Please try to include the serial number of your product as this allows us to check its history and will help us to provide more accurate and faster solutions.
Your request will create a ticket and it will be assigned to an available agent. They will then respond to you via email. Please Note: Our Technical Support Team are based in the United Kingdom and works 9 to 5pm (UK) Monday to Friday.
Community
While this is not a new feature it is one we are encouraging our customers to get involved in. This section is here so that our customers can share ideas, and use cases, and ask questions such as science questions that other customers may have previous experience of. All submissions are moderated. Our Technical Staff will offer suggestions to any questions if we have a solution but they will be left available for other customers to provide their suggestions too. Some questions may result in us creating an article on the Technical Website.
We would recommend that if you have an issue with your Singer Products you contact our Technical Support Team
Sections
All of our products have their own section eg. PIXL - Microbial Colony Picker. All the content in these sections relate directly to the product. Within each section will be sub-sections that categorise the articles eg. Software Download
Articles
Within these sections are the articles that will aim to answer your questions. At the top of the article you can see who wrote the article and when it was last updated.
Follow If this is an article you are interested in please select the 'Follow' button. When the article is updated or there is a response to any comments you will be notified via email.
Articles in this section Down the left side of the article are a list of other articles in the section
Rate the article If the article has answered your question please select 'Yes' or 'No' if it hasn't. This helps us improve our articles. It also improves our AnswerBot responses.
Related Articles At the bottom of the article page is a list of related articles just in case the article you find does not answer your question.
Recently viewed articles Next to the Related Articles is a list of previously viewed articles.
Comments We always welcome comments on our articles with suggestions for improvements
AnswerBot
If you have been in contact with our Support Team you may have already received an email with some suggested articles. This is what is called the 'AnswerBot'. You may find that the articles suggested are not relevant. This is to be expected while the AnswerBot is learning which articles to suggest. We would encourage you to Rate the Article.
Widget
As well as the search bar another tool on the website called the 'Widget' is a very useful tool for finding the information you need quickly - indicated by the arrow in the image below.
It uses the AnswerBot to suggest articles that may answer your question. Another very useful part of this tool is the ability to be able to live chat with our Support Team. Our Support Team is available 9am to 5pm (UK) Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, or if our team is not available complete the request form which will create a ticket and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
What's next
Following the first release of our new website, there is likely to be some minor changes to the display and what is available. During that time if you are unable to access any part of the site please email Technical Support
