Introduction
Touchscreen computers are fitted as standard to all MSM400's but older MSM 300's which have had an upgrade will also have been fitted with a touchscreen computer. It is not unusual for the touchscreen to become loose over time and may drop. The following explains the areas on an MSM which can be tightened to prevent this happening.
Tools/ Preparation required
- Allen Keys (Included with MSM tool kit
Procedure
There are a number of places where the screen can come loose.
Please refer to image below.
1. There is a locking handle (top arrow) on the back of the screen which clamps onto the ball seen just below the arrow. This is hand operated. Set the screen to your preferred position and move the lever clockwise (looking from the back) to secure in place.
2. If the above does not help then check that the screw indicated by the bottom arrow is tight using an appropriate allen key (hex key). Be careful of overtightening. If it is already tight then this is unlikely to be the problem.
3. If the above suggestions do not work then the bar itself might be rotating. This is clamped at the positions shown in the image below (orange arrows. Using an Allen Key (hex key) tighten these screws to stop the bar rotating. Do not overtighten as this can damage the screws.
Once the bar is tight return to the first part of this procedure to readjust the screen by loosening and tightening the screw and locking lever.
